Sprinter Leah Inman Verbally Commits to Florida for 2028-29 Season
NEW COMMIT: The University of Florida has received a new verbal commitment for Fall 2028 from Leah Inman of Omaha, Neb. Inman, a Junior National qualifier, is among the top sprinters in the class.
She will join Isabelle Green in Gainesville as a member of the Gators’ Class of 2032.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so grateful and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Florida! I want to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for their constant support throughout this journey. I am also incredibly thankful to the coaching staff at UF for giving me this amazing opportunity! Go Gators!!!”
Inman, who trains year-round with Swim Omaha, most recently competed at Junior Nationals where she finaled in the 50m free and 100m free. She earned gold in the 50m free and bronze in the 100m free at Columbia Speedo Sectionals in July where she also took sixth in the 200m IM.
Last winter, she placed 22nd in the 100 free and 24th in the 50 free at Juniors West before going on to record four top-10 finishes at Columbia Speedo Sectionals, highlighted by a third-place showing in the 50 free.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 22.53
- 100 free – 49.25
- 200 free – 1:47.84
- 100 back – 54.91
Currently a junior at Millard North High School, Inman won the 200 free and 500 free at the 2026 Nebraska State Championships after claiming the 50 free and 100 free state titles in 2025. She was named Female Swimmer of the Meet as a sophomore for breaking the meet record in the 200 free (1:48.33). She has also earned NISCA All-American honors.
Florida finished third at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Championships and 10th at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
Inman’s best 50 free time would’ve ranked second on the Gators’ roster last year while her top 100 free time would’ve been fourth, giving her invaluable relay potential. She would’ve scored in the C-final of the 50 free at the 2026 SEC Championships.
