Poolside Passport: Playing the Violin and Driving an Original Car with Kasia Wasick
Already a five-time Olympian, Poland’s Kasia Wasick isn’t slowing down. Over the summer, the 34-year-old sprint star captured the gold medal in the 50-meter freestyle at the European Championships, clocking a national-record time of 23.84. The performance was a huge boost on the road to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where Wasick will chase her first medal on the biggest stage in the sport.
Wasick made her first Olympic appearance at the 2008 Games in Beijing and has been a finalist in the 50 freestyle at the past two editions of the Games. As part of Swimming World’s Poolside Passport Series, Wasick took time to participate in a lighthearted question-and-answer exchange. Here’s a chance to get to know Wasick a little better.
