Sprinter Aaron Roy Announces 2028 Verbal Commitment to Yale
NEW COMMIT: Yale University has picked up its first public verbal commitment* for Fall 2028 from Aaron Roy of Bridgewater, N.J. Roy is a Summer Nationals qualifier who is a talented sprinter.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am extremely excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Yale university, where I will pursue my athletic and academic career! First, I’m thankful to god for guiding me, because none of this would be possible without Him. I would like to thank my mom and my dad for their unwavering support, guidance, and sacrifice throughout this journey. I’d like to also thank the rest of my family and friends for making this dream come true. Next, thank you to Coach Tom, Coach Jake, Coach Kyle and all the coaches who have helped me over the years for pushing me and shaping me into the swimmer I am today. I would like to give a special shoutout to Coach Joey for believing in me from the very start and giving me this chance to hone my skills at Yale. Always remember to not let someone tell you what you can or cannot do-the sky’s the limit. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to work with Yale’s swimming coaching staff! GO BULLDOGS🐶🐶!!!!!!!”
Roy trains year-round with Scarlet Aquatics and earned three best times at Junior Nationals this past summer after racing four events at Summer Nationals. Last winter, he competed at Juniors East before going on to earn three gold medals at the New Jersey Gold Championships.
His best times include:
- 50 fly – 21.73
- 100 fly – 49.27
- 50 back – 22.32
- 100 back – 49.73
- 50 free – 20.58
- 100 free – 45.07
Currently a junior at Bridgewater Raritan High School, Roy placed fourth in the 50 free and sixth in the 100 free at the 2026 New Jersey Meet of Championships, also helping his 4×50 medley and 4×100 free relays win.
Yale finished second at the 2026 Ivy League Championships. Roy’s top 50 fly time would’ve ranked second on the Bulldogs’ roster last season.
