NC State’s Stefani Wendelschaefer named to CSCAA Board
NC State assistant coach Stefani Wendelschaefer has been named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association Board of Directors this week. She will serve as the Assistant/Associate Head Coach Representative.
Wendelschaefer is in her sixth season at NC State, starting as a volunteer assistant in 2021-22. She was promoted to a full assistant in 2022. In 2025-26, she assumed the role of assistant coach/recruiting coordinator to go with coaching the middle-distance group.
“Assistant coaches are an incredibly important part of our membership, and they often experience our sport through a different lens than a head coach,” CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany said in a press release. “As we make decisions about the future of our Association and collegiate swimming and diving, we need those perspectives represented in the room. Stefani is a thoughtful and respected coach who understands both the opportunities and challenges facing assistant coaches today. We are excited to welcome her to the Board and know she will be an important voice in the conversations ahead.”
The representative for assistant/associate coaches in a relatively new part of the CSCAA board. It reflects its, “commitment to ensuring coaches at different stages and levels of leadership have a voice in shaping the future of collegiate swimming and diving.”
