Florida’s Devin Dilger, Catie Choate Sweep SEC Swimmer of the Week

Florida’s Devin Dilger and Catie Choate swept the SEC Swimmer of the Week honors, announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Florida’s Jesus Agundez Mora was named the male diver of the week. Alabama won both freshman of the week honors, via Bogdan Zverev and Iman Avdic. Maria Sanchez of Arkansas was voted the top female diver.

Dilger helped Florida stay unbeaten all-time against Kentucky. The junior won the 50 freestyle in 19.49 seconds and the 100 free in 32.92. He swam on the Gators’ winning 400 free relay and anchored the victorious 200 medley relay.

Agundez Mora swept both springboard events against the Wildcats. The native of Mexico tallied 335.33 to win 1-meter diving and 377.33 to claim 3-meter.

Choate replicated Dilger in winning four events. The senior swept the backstroke events, going 53.11 in the 100 and 1:56.72 in the 200. She led off the winning 200 medley relay for the Gators and swam on their victorious 400 free quartet.

Zverev was part of an Alabama win over Delta State. The native of Sarasota, Fla., won the 200 butterfly in 1:46.57 and the 200 individual medley in 1:48.25.

Avdic won her only individual race against Delta State, going 10:01.31. That’s the fourth-fastest time in the national this season from the native of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sanchez, a junior from Mexico City, won both diving events in an Arkansas tri-meet with TCU and Drury. She scored 326.95 on 1-meter and 365.40 on 3-meter.
