Texas A&M Scores Verbal From Backstroker Kate Boutry For Class of 2032
NEW COMMIT: Richmond, Va. native Kate Boutry has announced her verbal commitment to continue her academic and swimming career at Texas A&M University beginning in Fall 2028. Boutry is a Junior National qualifier who specializes in backstroke.
Regarding her commitment, she said:

Boutry does her club swimming with NOVA of Virginia Aquatics and placed fifth in the 50m back at Junior Nationals this past summer after racing three events at USA Swimming Nationals the week prior. She produced seven top-12 individual finishes at Virginia Long Course Seniors, highlighted by a runner-up finish in the 50m back.
Last winter, Boutry was a six-time finalist at Virginia Short Course Seniors before going on to place 18th in the 100 back at NCSA Spring Championships.
Her best times include:
- 50 back – 25.73
- 100 back – 54.89
- 200 back – 1:59.63
Currently a junior at The Collegiate School, Boutry placed second in the 100 back and seventh in the 200 free at the 2026 VISAA Championships, also helping her 4×50 medley and 4×100 free relays win. She was part of both those winning relays at the state meet as a freshman in 2025, also placing second in the 100 back and fifth in the 200 free.
Texas A&M finished ninth at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Championships. Boutry’s best time in the 50 back would’ve ranked third on the Aggies’ roster last year.
