Pitt Scores 2027 Verbal From Junior National Qualifier Sammy DaJusta
NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Sammy DaJusta of Columbus, Ohio, has pledged his verbal commitment to the University of Pittsburgh for Fall 2027. DaJusta is a sprint freestyler.
He will join Kian Grabar in Pittsburgh as a member of the Panthers’ Class of 2031.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to study and swim at the University of Pittsburgh! I want to give a huge thanks to my family, all my coaches, and teammates for being a part of my journey thus far. I also want to thank the Pitt Coaching Staff for this opportunity. #H2P!”
DaJusta trains year-round with Upper Arlington Swim Club and most recently competed at Junior Nationals where he earned two best times. Last winter, he raced three events at Juniors East and won the 500 free at the Ohio Tim Myers Senior Championships.
His best times include:
- 50 free – 20.90
- 100 free – 45.53
- 200 free – 1:38.64
- 500 free – 4:34.25
- 100 fly – 49.87
A rising senior at Upper Arlington High School, DaJusta placed fourth in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 free at the 2026 Ohio Division I State Championships, also helping his 4×50 free and 4×100 free relays secure silver. He took third in the 200 free and sixth in the 100 free at the state meet during his sophomore season.
The Panthers placed 11th at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.
