Mike Brady Named Director of Aquatics at Greensboro Aquatic Center

Oak View Group (OVG) and Greensboro Complex are pleased to announce the hiring of Mike Brady as Director of Aquatics at Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC). Brady brings extensive experience in aquatic facility operations, competitive swimming, event management and organizational leadership to the nation’s largest indoor aquatic facility.

Brady joins the Greensboro Aquatic Center from the Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center in Orlando, Florida, where he served as associate executive director. In that role, he provided operational leadership for a leading aquatic facility, overseeing a full calendar of state, regional, national and international competitions, managing budgets and revenue initiatives, and coordinating with event organizers, sponsors and community partners.

Throughout his career, Brady has held leadership positions spanning aquatic facilities, competitive swimming programs and multi-site recreational operations. His experience includes serving as district executive director for the YMCA of Central Florida, where he oversaw operations, programming, staffing and budgets across 17 family center locations, as well as serving as senior aquatic director for the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina.

Brady also brings extensive experience in competitive swimming and aquatic event development. He has held leadership roles with USA Swimming, YMCA National Swimming and Diving, the American Swim Coaches Association, North Carolina Swimming and Florida Swimming. His background includes supporting major-event bid development and execution across swimming, diving, water polo and artistic swimming.

“Mike is an experienced aquatic facility leader who brings decades of industry experience, competitive swimming expertise and major-event management to this critical role,” said Scott Johnson, OVG general manager for Greensboro Complex. “We feel he is ideally suited to help build on the GAC’s success to date and recruit and host major aquatic competitions at the highest level.”

Brady will begin his new role on Nov. 13.

“I’m thrilled to join the Greensboro Aquatic Center and lead a team with a first-class reputation in the aquatics community,” said Brady. “The GAC is a state-of-the-art venue with an impressive track record. I look forward to working closely with our staff and community partners, including the Greensboro Sports Foundation and Greensboro Convention and Visitors Bureau, to help position Greensboro as the ideal destination for major aquatic events.”
