Miami Picks Up Dual Meet Wins Over Ohio and North Florida

The Miami Hurricanes took down Ohio and North Florida in dual meet action Friday, winning 193-106 against the Bobcats and 232-54 against the Ospreys. Ohio also finished ahead of North Florida by a 221-72 margin.

Miami’s Leah Evans, Kaelia Hughes, Ashlyn Massey and Addison Vonderahe finished on top of the 200 medley relay in 1:43.07. Massey later secured an individual first-place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:01.49) Marrisa Inoyue won the 1000 freestyle for Miami in 10:17.30, and Joslyn Bolton held on for first in the 200 free (1:50.85). Bolton got a second win in the 100 free, clocking 51.49.

Leah Treglia earned a win in the 100 backstroke (56.07), while Marin Priddy was first in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.10). Diver Aurelie Sevigny was first on 1-meter (325.35) while teammate Emily Francis won 3-meter (343.95). Phoebe Mayo held off a trio of Bobcats to top the 200 back (2:01.13), followed by Sophie Lenze finishing first in the 200 breast (2:19.15). Taylor Johanssen concluded Friday’s individual racing with a time of 2:03.84 in the 200 IM.

Ohio got a win from Zita Szoke in the 50 free (22.92), with teammate Tori Wittenberg taking second place. Szoke returned to top the 100 fly in 54.40, 0.17 ahead of Massey. Szoke, Kathleen Buroker, Ashlyn Morr and Juliette Daigneault concluded the meet with a 400 free relay win, checking in at 3:26.51 to defeat Miami by a half-second, although the Hurricanes’ top squad was later disqualified.
