Caitlin Clark’s college basketball career is coming to a close. She moves one step closer to her final game Sunday when the Hawkeyes take on Ohio State at home for senior day.
Clark needs 18 points to pass “Pistol” Pete Maravich for the all-time scoring record. Maravich, who played three years for LSU from 1967-70, scored 3,667 points – at a time when freshmen didn’t play varsity ball and there was no three-point line.
Fans lucky enough to have tickets to Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET contest at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa, will watch Clark in her regular-season finale. Clark on Thursday declared for the WNBA Draft and will not return for a fifth year.
The Hawkeyes (25-4, 14-2 Big Ten) are playing for NCAA tournament seeding as Ohio State (25-3, 16-1 Big Ten) clinched the outright Big Ten regular-season title with a 67-51 win over Michigan on Wednesday.
How to watch Iowa vs. Ohio State
No. 2 Ohio State at No. 6 Iowa can be seen nationally on Fox and can be streamed using the Fox Sports App. The game can also be found on Fubo. For Fox, Gus Johnson will be on the play-by-play with analyst Sarah Kustok. Allison Williams will handle sideline duties.
Can anyone challenge Caitlin Clark’s NCAA scoring record?
Kelsey Plum’s record stood for seven years. Iowa coach Lisa Bluder thinks Clark’s could stand even longer.
“This record is going to stand for a long time and I’m just glad she’s wearing black and gold,” Bluder said.
Bluder also said she loved that Clark set the record with a logo 3, the shot that’s become her signature.
“You do it, you do it well, girl,” Bluder said. – Nancy Armour
