Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Swimmer of the Year Sydney LaBaugh Chooses LSU for 2027
NEW COMMIT: Louisiana State University has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from Sydney LaBaugh of Coplay, Pa. LaBaugh is a versatile swimmer who is a Junior National qualifier.
She will join Natalie Daum in Baton Rouge as a member of the Tigers’ Class of 2031.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Louisiana State University! I would like to thank my parents for all their support and everything they have done to help me achieve my goals. Thank you to my family, friends, and teammates who have helped me throughout this process. I would also like to thank Coach Allie, Coach Faikish, Coach Kenrick, and all my coaches who have pushed me to be my best every day and have supported me throughout the years. In addition I would like to thank Coach Rick, Coach Brogan, and the whole LSU family for this incredible opportunity! Geaux Tigers!!”
LaBaugh trains year-round with Parkland Swimming Club and most recently won four events at the ISCA Senior Blast meet in July where she earned five best times. She was a six-time finalist at St. Mary’s City Speedo Sectionals in March, finishing as high as fifth in both the 100 fly and 100 back.
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 54.72
- 100 back – 54.96
- 200 free – 1:50.91
- 100 free – 51.51
A rising senior at Parkland High School, LaBaugh finished fourth in the 100 back and 100 fly at the 2026 Pennsylvania 3A State Championships. She placed fourth in the 100 back and 12th in the 200 free at the state meet in 2025 as a sophomore. She is a two-time Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Swimmer of the Year.
The Tigers placed fifth at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Championships before going on to take 21st at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
