Tritons Invite: Cal Men, UC San Diego Women Earn Overall Titles
The Cal Golden Bears won the 2026 Tritons Invite on Friday-Saturday at UC San Diego, while the host Tritons won the women’s meet.
In the men’s meet, the Bears scored 993 points to finish ahead of Hawaii (678.5), UC San Diego (599.5) and Pomona-Pitzer (182).
In the women’s meet, UC San Diego scored 750 points to finish ahead of Hawaii (711.5), Cal (628) and Pomona Pitzer (302.5).
In the women’s meet, Cal’s Alexa McDevitt won the 400 IM in 4:10.84 and the 200 free in 1:46.39. Airi Mitsui won the 100 fly (53.61). Arielle Brotman won the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.03. Finley Anderson won the 200 back (1:56.52). Camille Henveaux won the 1650 free (16:09.05). Egle Salu won the 200 breast (2:14.67).
UC San Diego’s Asia Kozan won the 100 free in 49.77.
Hawaii’s Kiera Beierling, Quincy Key, Aziza Meyer and Zofia Tyminska won the 200 free relay in 1:32.25.
Cal’s Ian Platts-Mills won the 400 IM in 3:48.32. Jack Brown won the 100 fly (46.07). Nans Mazellier won the 200 free (1:35.25). Caiden Bowers won the 100 breast (54.52) and 200 breast (2:00.67). Aukan Nahuel Goldin won the 200 back (1:42.65). Julien Rousseau won the 1650 free (15:25.09). John Thurman won the 100 free (42.82) just ahead of Brown (42.84).
Hawaii won the 200 free relay with Kristians Brencs, Alexander Tullberg, Victor Dagenais and Regan Richardson finishing in 1:20.13.
Tritons Invite: Day 1
The Golden Bears opened the meet in dominant fashion, sweeping the 200 medley relay titles. The men’s A relay touched first in 1:27.18, followed by the men’s B relay in 1:27.49, while the women claimed first in 1:39.19. Cal continued its strong start in the 500 freestyle, where Norvy Clontz (4:22.92) and Julien Rousseau (4:23.47) finished first and second, respectively.
In the 100 backstroke, Finley Anderson led the women’s field with a time of 53.92, while the men swept the top three spots, with Max Goettsch (48.16), Aukan Goldin (48.18) and Jordan Ragland (48.51) finishing first, second and third, respectively.
Cal carried that momentum into the 200 individual medley, claiming five of the six podium spots. Alexa McDevitt (1:58.51) and Arielle Brotman (2:00.06) placed first and third, respectively, for the women, while the men swept the event, led by Tim Wu (1:46.42), Ian Platts-Mills (1:47.43) and Caiden Bowers (1:48.47).
Hawaii’s Brooke Bennett won the 500 free in 4:56.41. Quincy Key won the 50 free (22.92) just ahead of UC San Diego’s Maddie O’Connell (22.99).
