The women’s basketball remained in Los Angeles to play another top-four Big Ten team, the No. 4 USC Trojans. Once again, the Huskers stuck with their opponent for the first half of play but failed to keep up in the second, resulting in a 75-55 defeat.
Nebraska stuck with the Trojans deep into the third quarter, trailing 49-42 with 2:32 left in the third. But USC took off from there, outscoring the Huskers 26-13. Nebraska shot 20-of-58 from the floor but the Trojans landed 27-of-60.
Logan Nissley led the Huskers in scoring, dropping 14 points and going 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. Britt Prince also cracked double digits, racking up 10 points. She also hauled in eight rebounds. Alexis Markowski led Nebraska in rebounds with nine and scored seven points.
The Huskers fall to 10-4 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. Nebraska returns home for the next couple of conference games. The Huskers host the Penn State Nittany Lions on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. CT on Nebraska Public Media and B1G+.
