President Joe Biden continued former President Barack Obama’s longtime tradition of releasing an NCAA Tournament bracket, predicting South Carolina to win on the women’s side and UConn to win for the men.
Biden is a big fan of Pac-12 women’s basketball in its final year of existence as we know it, with a whopping six teams in the Elite Eight. He picked South Carolina as his champion, defeating UCLA in the title game, with Stanford and UConn making up the other Final Four teams. He also has Oregon State, Colorado, USC, and Utah in the Elite Eight.
For the men’s side, Biden has Houston, UConn, North Carolina, and Tennessee in his Final Four, with the Huskies winning it all for the second straight season. Biden predicts that No. 6 South Carolina will beat No. 11 Oregon in the first round of the tournament before losing to No. 3 Creighton. The furthest Pac-12 team he has advancing is No. 2 Arizona to the Elite Eight.
Obama also released his bracket, predicting UConn to win for the men and South Carolina for the women.
Obama also has South Carolina defeating Oregon in the first round on the men’s side, with Purdue, Kentucky, and Baylor joining UConn in the Final Four. For the women, Obama projects a Nebraska upset over Oregon State in the second round and two Pac-12 teams in the Final Four in Stanford and USC.
