Notre Dame women’s basketball climbed back into the top 5 in both the USA Today Sports Coaches poll and the Associated Press poll after knocking off No. 2 Connecticut (79-68) last Thursday and then rolling past Eastern Michigan (118-49) on Sunday.
The Irish (9-2) are No. 4 in this week’s Coaches (up five spots from No. 9) and are No. 3 in the Associated Press poll (up five spots from No. 8). Notre Dame even received a first-place vote in the AP poll.

UCLA (10-0) holds the No. 1 spot in both polls, followed by South Carolina (10-1). LSU (12-0) is No. 3 in the Coaches poll and No. 5 in the AP poll. UConn (9-1) dropped to No. 4 in AP and No. 5 in Coaches.
Notre Dame has the week off to concentrate on final exams and will return to action on Sunday, Dec. 22, by hosting Loyola Maryland (5-4) at noon at Purcell Pavilion.
