What channel is Texas football-Clemson on? Time, TV schedule for College Football Playoff

Texas football is the fifth seed in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff, and their reward is a first-round home game against the 12th-seeded Clemson. The winner will play fourth-seeded Arizona State in the quarterfinals held at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta.

Texas is well-rested after a disappointing 22-19 loss to Georgia in the SEC championship game two weeks ago. The Longhorns had chances to win, but red zone execution and a myriad of penalties ended up costing them down the stretch.

Clemson’s offense is led by former Westlake quarterback Cade Klubnik, who will return to Austin to face off against an old foe in Quinn Ewers. The two top-ranked high school recruits faced off in the 2020 Texas high school football state finals, with Klubnik coming out on top. Klubnik will also face his old teammate Michael Taaffe, an Associated Press All-American safety for perhaps the best defense in the country.

Texas safety Andrew Mukuba will be giving his old teammates some tough love on Saturday. A Clemson transfer, Mukuba spent the first two years of college in South Carolina playing under coach Dabo Swinney.
