Louisville women’s basketball’s freshmen are settling in and making noise.
The group knew it would have a chance to make contributions early, and they have risen to the occasion. Taj Roberts has emerged as the team’s leading scorer with 14.3 points per game and has only turned the ball over twice in her first four college games. Despite the overtime loss to Kentucky, Imari Berry had her best offensive showing so far with 14 points, going 4 for 5 from 3-point range. Berry has also been one of the team’s top rebounders with 5.3 boards per outing.
Berry, Roberts and the No. 22 Cardinals will look to continue growing and maturing when they face Morehead State at 7 p.m. today at the KFC Yum! Center. The Eagles opened the season with a 92-80 win over Asbury but have lost three straight since then.
