USC Women Top UCLA to Earn First-Ever Undefeated Season

The USC women’s swimming and diving team completed an undefeated regular season in dual meets for the first time in program history on Friday.

The Trojans defeated UCLA 164-136 in the final dual meet of the season.

This year, No. 7 USC defeated No. 4 Stanford in a dual meet for the first time since 1996 and also topped Cal, winning both meets for the first time and finished 9-0.






Caroline Famous, Kaitlyn Dobler, Anicka Delgado and Vasilissa Buinaia combine for 1:36.36 to win the 200 medley relay to kick off the meet.

Famous broke the Spieker Aquatic Center record in the 100 backstroke when she touched the wall in 51.82. Famous also won the 100 butterfly.

Dobler won the 100 breaststroke in 59.46 and 200 breaststroke in 2:09.42. Delgado (22.19) and Famous (22.41) went 1-2 in the 50 freestyle.

The Trojans swept the 1000 free behind Sophia Kudryashova (9:46.98), Claire Tuggle (9:49.74) and Marlene Kahler (9:55.02). Tuggle won the 500 free in 4:42.94.

Minna Abraham claimed a victory in the 200 freestyle (1:44.99). Abraham won the 100 free in 48.45 and Buinaia (48.62) was second.

USC’s Nike Agunbiade won 1-meter diving with a scored of 320.03.

Buinaia, Delgado, Tuggle and Abraham claim the 200y free relay for USC in 1:29.16.

UCLA’s Rosie Murphy broke the school record to win the 200 backstroke in 1:53.25.

UCLA went 1-2 in the 200 IM with Murphy winning in 1:57.45 and Ana Jih-Schiff taking second in 1:58.53.

Savana Trueb won 3-meter diving with 323.55 points, going 1-2 with Zoe Jespersgaard (311.70).
