Justin Tipuric returns from injury to lead Ospreys against Ulster in the United Rugby Championship on Sunday.
Prop Nicky Smith also returns, with another Wales international Alex Cuthbert among the replacements after a year out injured.
Centre Evardi Boshoff and loose forward Victor Sekekete are included after joining from Cheetahs.
Irish internationals Iain Henderson, Jacob Stockdale and Nick Timoney all start for Ulster.
Henderson, Stockdale, Timoney and Tom Stewart – who is on the bench – were released from the Ireland squad this week, with Stuart McCloskey and Tom O’Toole retained.
South Africa’s two-time World Cup winner Steven Kitshoff is also on the bench as Ulster head coach Dan McFarland makes nine changes from the Investec Champions Cup loss to Harlequins.
Cuthbert has not played since Wales’ 2023 Six Nations defeat against Scotland while Tipuric returns after breaking his thumb against Dragons in November and Smith has recovered from the shoulder injury he picked up in Montpellier.
Morgan Morris, Rhys Davies and Owen Williams remain injured.
Ospreys return to league action for the first time since their New Year’s day win against Cardiff and are currently eighth in the table having won five from their nine league games so far this season.
Only three points separate them from Ulster who are fifth.
