Michigan football made no secret who it coveted most in the transfer portal after landing Alabama running back Justice Haynes.

The Wolverines strongly desired to lure standout wideout Skyler Bell, the current UConn and former Wisconsin pass catcher, to Ann Arbor. And it had appeared that all was going well in his recruitment after he entered the transfer portal in December. However, he never pulled the trigger for the maize and blue as they had to fight to land his pledge.

On Saturday, the Wolverines got some bad news. Despite having looked to leave Connecticut for greener pastures, Bell instead decided to stay put and not come to Michigan football after all.

With Bell off the board, the Wolverines will continue to target Clemson wide receiver Tony Stellato, Yale WR David Pantelis, and new offer, Appalachian State WR Kaedin Robinson.

As of current, Michigan has just one transfer portal commitment at wide receiver, former Indiana quarterback and WR Donaven McCulley. The Wolverines also have three receivers committed in the 2025 recruiting class in Andrew Marsh, Jacob Washington, and Jamar Browder.
