Steve Clifford is set to step down as head coach of the Charlotte Hornets at the conclusion of the season, transitioning into a front office role within the franchise, as revealed by NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski. Clifford was appointed as Hornets head coach in 2022.
Clifford made the decision known to his assistants and players on Wednesday morning, ahead of the Hornets’ final seven games of the season, starting with a matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers.
