COLUMBIA — South Carolina women’s basketball is set to face No. 19 Alabama.
The Gamecocks (16-1, 4-0 SEC) picked up two wins at home against Texas A&M and Texas and now travel to Coleman Coliseum on Thursday (7 p.m., SEC Network+). They are No. 2 in the polls this week after going 2-0 and turn to face the Crimson Tide (16-2, 3-1) who are coming off a win over Ole Miss.
South Carolina leads the all time series 23-15 and is 13-8 on the road. Coach Kristy Curry has been with the Crimson Tide since 2013 and has made the NCAA tournament the past two seasons. Alabama went 24-10 in 2023-24 and lost to Texas in the second round of the tournament.

Star player for Alabama Sarah Ashlee Barker may not play
Sarah Ashlee Barker, a 6-foot guard for Alabama may still be dealing with a lower leg injury that she sustained Jan. 2. She’s been day to day since and in the three games she hasn’t played, Alabama is 2-1.
Before the injury, Barker was averaging 15.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game and shooting 49.7% from the field. She’s the second-leading scorer behind Zaay Green who is averaging 16.7 points per game.
Aaliyah Nye: Alabama’s leading 3-point shooter
Senior Aaliyah Nye is the Crimson Tide’s best 3-point shooter, as she is 44.8% from behind the arc. She’s converted 65 of 145 attempts and is averaging 14.8 points per game, the third best on the team.
