The Nebraska Cornhuskers landed another transfer in the portal on Saturday night. Former Georgia Bulldog defensive back Justyn Rhett announced that he will transfer to Nebraska.

Rhett entered the portal last week and visited Nebraska before making his decision. After spending two years at Georgia, he joins the Huskers with three years of eligibility remaining.

A recruit from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, Rhett committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before flipping to Georgia less than ten days later. He redshirted his freshman year before seeing action in 2024. Rhett played against the Clemson Tigers and Tennessee Tech, recording one tackle in each.

However, he sustained an injury, sidelining him for the rest of the season. Rhett now joins the Huskers, who are making a big overhaul defensively with the departure of defensive coordinator Tony White. Rhett partially fills the two safety gaps between the graduating DeShon Singleton and Isaac Gifford.

Here are the social media reactions to Rhett’s commitment.
