Social Kick Podcast: Thanks to Experience, Rex Maurer Suggests This Set to Improve Your 500 Freestyle
The crew at the Social Kick Podcast recently welcomed Rex Maurer for a comprehensive interview. Having Maurer as a guest on the show made total sense for hosts Bryan Lundquist and John Mullen, whose chats with top athletes are can’t-miss in the podcast realm. Fellow Social Kick host Luke Paddington was unavailable for the sitdown with Maurer, but is also a valuable member of the team.
With Maurer posting an American record of 4:04.45 in the 500-yard freestyle at the Texas Invitational, there was clear proof that his transfer to the University of Texas is paying off in a big way. So, the Social Kick guys wanted to get Maurer on their podcast to discuss the record, his new training environment and a variety of other topics.
During the interview, Maurer took time to provide a glimpse into his training, including a look at a training set that moved him toward American-record status. Obviously, he is expected to be a major factor at March’s NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Washington.
