Oklahoma State women’s basketball NCAA Tournament resume for March Madness: Jan. 13

The Oklahoma State women’s basketball team won a pair of Big 12 games last week and improved its NCAA Tournament resume in the process.

OSU (14-2, 4-1 Big 12) earned a 64-48 road win over Cincinnati on Wednesday. It then secured a 64-57 home win over then-No. 17 West Virginia on Saturday.

OSU is now tied for No. 24 in the AP Top 25 Poll. The USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll will release this week’s rankings on Tuesday.

Oklahoma State basketball results last week

Jan. 8: Oklahoma State 64, Cincinnati 48

OSU pulled away during the fourth quarter of its 64-48 road win over Cincinnati on Wednesday. The Cowgirls outscored the Bearcats by 10 points in the final frame, and Stailee Heard finished with a monster stat line. The sophomore guard recorded 21 points, 13 rebounds, five steals and four assists in 37 minutes.

Jan. 11: Oklahoma State 64, West Virginia 57

OSU earned a 64-57 home win over then-No. 17 West Virginia on Saturday. It’s the biggest win so far this season for the Cowgirls, who trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half. Heard led the way once again with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Alexia Smith chipped in seven points and 12 rebounds. OSU is now 2-0 this season against ranked opponents.
