Penny Hardaway’s Memphis basketball team will try to get back in the win column on the road today against Charlotte.
The 17th-ranked Tigers (13-4, 3-1 AAC) lost Thursday for the first time since Dec. 21, falling to Temple 88-81 at The Liacouras Center in Philadelphia. A big reason why was Memphis’ struggles in the rebounding department. The Owls dominated the glass, out-rebounding the Tigers 49-25.
“Obviously, everybody watches film,” Hardaway said after the game. “We get a little lazy sometimes on boxing out. That’s everybody’s game plan now. We’re going to grow from this and get better, because we’ve done it before. We’ve boxed out in plenty of games.”
Charlotte, which ranks 305th in the country with a minus-3 rebounding margin, could offer the Tigers a chance to get moving back in the right direction on the boards.
