March Madness: Follow Selection Sunday live as conference tournaments wrap up

Selection Sunday is here.

Before the brackets are revealed later today though, there are still a few conference championships to play and automatic berths to lock up.

After some surprising early round upsets, the SEC and Big Ten men’s title games are both missing their top seeds as Florida takes on Auburn and Wisconsin plays Illinois. Also in action: Duquesne vs. VCU for the Atlantic 10 crown and Temple vs. UAB for the AAC title. There are four conference championship games on the women’s side, headlined by Missouri State facing Drake in the MVC final.

Here’s what’s in store on Sunday before the selection show (women’s games in italics):

12:00 p.m. ET — Ivy League (ESPN2)
12:00 p.m. ET — Patriot League (CBSSN)
12:00 p.m. ET — Northeast (ESPNU/+)
1:00 p.m. ET — SEC (ESPN)

Live19 updates

  • Final: Yale 62, Brown 61

Ticket punched! The Bulldogs are dancing after a buzzer-beating teardrop by Matt Knowling! They trailed 60-54 with 27 seconds left to play, but never quit, erasing the deficit and clinching an NCAA tournament bid.

  • The Dukes have been on a cold streak since the confetti fell. They’ve made just one of their last 15 shots and VCU has it down to single digits now.

  • Meanwhile, the Gators have closed the gap coming out of the break with a 14-7 run.

  • Confetti has fallen a bit early at the A-10 championship, where Duquesne is up big in the second half.

  • Halftime: Auburn 38, Florida 30

The Gators are hanging around, but the Tigers’ defense was the difference in the opening half. Florida is just 9-for-32 and hasn’t made a 3-pointer.

  • The Tigers have gone cold for a stretch but still hold a double-digit lead thanks to their defense. It has really given Florida fits so far in this one.

  • Duquesne has a double-digit lead midway through the first half. Dae Dae Grant has 10 for the Dukes already.

  • Florida’s Micah Handlogten stretchered out of SEC championship after horrific leg injury

    (Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports)

  • They stabilized his lower left leg and have stretchered him off the court. They have not shown a replay due to the nature of the injury.

  • The Tigers have taken an early 7-2 lead but play has been halted as Micah Handlogten has gone down with a serious injury.

  • On the women’s side, Holy Cross is up 34-23 over Boston at halftime of the Patriot League title game and Sacred Heart is up big on LeMoyne in the third quarter of the NEC title game.

  • The Ivy League title game is at the break with Yale holding a 26-22 lead.

  • The SEC title game between Florida and Auburn is moments away from tipping off.

  • Good afternoon folks and welcome to our Selection Sunday live tracker! We’re still a few hours away from the men’s selection show, but there are a slew of conference championship games going on while we wait.
