by

Jan. 25—After a season when he piled up nearly 1,000 receiving yards and was one of the top defensive backs in Class 4A, Ada senior Deante Lindsay was selected as a part of the 2025 Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State football teams.

Lindsay is listed as one of five wide receivers on the OCA All-State East team. He became the 107th All-State Cougar football player.

“Deante’s achievement of making All-State is a testament to his hard work, talent, and dedication both on and off the field. It’s an honor that reflects his commitment to excellence and his impact on his team this season,” Ada head coach Wade Boyles told The Ada News.

Lindsay, who is already enrolled at Texas Tech where he’ll participate in spring football practices with the Red Raider ahead of his freshman campaign with the Big 12 team, hauled in 54 catches for 987 yards and 11 touchdowns during Ada’s 2024 campaign. He also had 40 tackles, an interception and a memorable fumble return for a touchdown while roaming the AHS secondary.

The All-State game is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at Crain Family Stadium at Oklahoma Baptist University. Pregame festivities begin at 6:15 p.m.

Former Tulsa Union head coach Kirk Fridrich was selected to coach the East team with Josh Presley of Stroud, Travis Bryant of Wagoner and Bob Underwood of Seminole as assistants.
