Kansas basketball guard Dajuan Harris Jr. to miss UCF game

by

LAWRENCE — For the first time this season, Kansas basketball will be without veteran guard Dajuan Harris Jr. for one of its games.

According to a KU official, Harris tweaked his ankle in practice on Monday and will not play in the game Tuesday at home against UCF. Harris had started all 19 games for the Jayhawks to this point and averaged 9.6 points, 5.8 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game. Without him, Kansas is going with a starting lineup that features guards Shakeel Moore, Zeke Mayo, and Rylan Griffen, as well as forward Flory Bidunga and center Hunter Dickinson.

The Jayhawks will miss Harris’ presence in the lineup but do have the benefit of being able to turn to other veterans at guard. They won’t have to rely on inexperienced players to help beat UCF. Earlier this season, with Harris scoring 11 points, grabbing six rebounds, and dishing out two assists, Kansas won 99-48 on the road against UCF.
