Feb. 21—JAMESTOWN — The University of Jamestown women’s basketball team got as close as two points in the third quarter but they were unable to close the game any further in a 78-66 loss to Briar Cliff University on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Harold Newman Arena.
The Jimmies called a timeout down 11-4 with 4:11 to go in the first quarter. After that stoppage, the Jimmies proceeded to outscore the Chargers 6-3 over the remainder of the first quarter to head into the second quarter down 15-10.
The Chargers responded to every Jimmies punch in the second quarter helped by 17 first half points from senior guard Kennedy Benne to head into the half up 39-30.
