What is going on between J.T. Miller and the Vancouver Canucks?
Sportsnet’s Eliotte Friedman reported on Saturday that talks between the Canucks and New York Rangers were progressing regarding a trade for Miller before everything ultimately fell apart.
We are now learning that even Miller thought he was heading to New York.
“I think there was a point on Friday where it looked like with the Rangers, it was close, and Miller was told it was close,” Friedman said.
Why was this trade called off after it was so close to being completed?
“I think they had something going with the Rangers, and I think it fell apart,” Friedman said. “And I don’t know. I have some theories, but I just don’t have enough proof. I don’t think Miller vetoed it. I just for whatever reason, I just don’t think it got to the finish line.”
At this point in time, it’s unclear if the Canucks and Rangers have reengaged in negotiations or if talks are off entirely.
