Islanders to host 2026 NHL All-Star Game at UBS Arena

The Islanders will host the 2026 NHL All-Star game at UBS Arena, the league announced on Sunday during the first intermission of the Isles’ Stadium Series game against the Rangers.

“We have been looking forward to UBS Arena playing host to one of our major League events since before construction of this wonderful arena began,” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said in a statement. “We have every confidence that the Islanders organization, led by Scott Malkin and Jon Ledecky, will deliver a celebration that will make the greater New York region and the NHL proud.”

The dates and times for the weekend’s festivities will be announced at a later date.

The 2026 game will be held before the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan, Italy, which will feature a return of NHL players to contest for gold for the first time since 2014. The Olympic games will be held Feb. 6-22, 2026.

“We are honored to be invited to host the National Hockey League, the game’s finest players and fans from around the world to join us in New York,” Malkin said in a statement. “Whether our guests will be watching the talented players on the ice in UBS Arena, a building built specifically for hockey, shopping in Belmont Park Village or enjoying pre and post-game festivities in The Park, the 2026 All-Star weekend will show NHL fans the outstanding destination we have for hockey, shopping and entertainment.”

This will be the second time the franchise has hosted the All-Star Game as the Isles hosted the 35th All-Star Game in 1983 at Nassau Coliseum.

That year, New York defenseman Denis Potvin was in the starting lineup and Al Arbour was the coach of the Wales Conference side. Left wing Byan Trottier, right wing Mike Bossy and defenseman Dave Langevin made the squad as reserves
