After a convincing 83-52 road win over Villanova Sunday, the UConn women’s basketball team returns home Wednesday to take on Xavier at XL Center in Hartford.

With their win over Villanova, the UConn women improved their record to 13-2 overall and 4-0 in Big East Conference play. UConn freshman Sarah Strong led all scorers in Sunday’s game against Villanova, scoring 21 points.

Xavier is 5-9 overall and 0-3 in Big East Conference play. Xavier dropped their last game to DePaul Jan. 2 by a score of 60-65.

UConn’s Paige Bueckers left Sunday’s game against Villanova with a knee injury late in the third quarter. Following that game, UConn Head Coach Geno Auriemma was optimistic about Bueckers’ injury, but it is unknown if she will miss any playing time.
