The rivalry between BYU and Utah added another chapter to its storied history Saturday night in Salt Lake City, as the Runnin’ Utes outlasted the Cougars 73-72 in overtime.
For BYU, it was yet another close loss in an already frustrating season, and Cougar fans aren’t happy about it.
Here are some of the notable reactions from social media.
Good game Utah.
We just don’t have it yet.

Brutal loss. No way around it. Honestly, I feel bad for Trevin. He’s gonna get a lot of hate thrown his way for a shot he should’ve made. No need to tweet at him or be in his DMs

The toughest part about this loss at Utah is that this was one of the most winnable games left on BYU’s conference schedule. Unless the team makes big progress in the coming weeks, it might be a rough couple of months. https://t.co/iMcmM5PC8L

Still a lot of games to be played, but losing tossup games has defined this BYU basketball season.
BYU is 0-4 in overtime games and games decided by five points or less.
The postseason outlook would be a lot different for this team if that record was 2-2 or better.

BYU has no one to blame but itself for this loss. Lots of heart but no toughness or execution when it counted. Best look on the final play a contested 3 by Demin is this team in a nutshell. Everything is labored and out of sync. Still no wins on the road. @BYUMBB

Let’s all be honest with ourselves: No matter who you root for, those are two bad basketball teams.

32 free throw attempts vs. 10 free throw attempts…

This is one of the worst ref performances I’ve ever seen

I was excited to be in the Big 12 but tonight I am not.
