Denmark’s Stephan Hansen and Mathias Fullerton both shot clean to top the compound men’s qualifying in Nimes with perfect scores of 600 each.

Fullerton, the silver medallist in Nimes in 2023, won the coin toss to become top seed for the eliminations.

The women’s recurve qualifying was also tied with Charline Schwarz and Victoria Sebastian both on 591. Schwarz won the toss and was seeded first.

Roy Dror, who won the under-21 event in Nimes last year, topped the men’s recurve qualifying, the largest field this year with 191 entries.

His score of 596 edged out Marcus D’Almeida and Florian Unruh, both on 595. World number one D’Almeida shot a perfect score of 300 on the back half.

The top compound women’s score was 592, shot by Alejandra Usquiano, leading Andrea Becerra and Elisa Roner, both on 590.

The cut to make the top-32 matchplay phase of the senior compound men’s tournament was 588, two points below last year’s mark.

The compound women’s top-32 score was 571, while the recurve cuts sat at 580 for men and 566 for women.

Competition continues this afternoon and evening with eliminations up to and including semifinals.
