Georgia women’s basketball is off to a lopsided start in conference play, but they’re doing everything they can to right the ship early.
After two beatings by Vanderbilt and Florida to open the new year, the Lady Bulldogs managed to bounce back against Missouri in their conference home opener and win by a singular possession. This raised them above .500 overall, making them 9-8 on the year.
There are some tough ones on deck though with a No. 16 Kentucky team arriving in Athens in a week and a trip out west to No. 11 Oklahoma right after.
Freshman forward Mia Woolfolk has been back on the court contributing to the Lady Bulldogs efforts for a month now — she suffered a foot injury in the first game of the season and sat out from Nov. 4 to Dec. 16. She’s second on the team averaging 12.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
Senior guard De’Mauri Flournoy and freshman guard Trinity Turner round out the top three scorers for the Lady Bulldogs with Woolfolk, averaging 12.6 and 12.4 points per game, respectively.
There are still no updates on the injuries of redshirt senior forward Nyah Leveretter and redshirt sophomore guard Savannah Henderson, but neither have clocked court time this season.
