Middle Tennessee State’s women’s basketball team will play host LSU at 2 p.m. CT Sunday (ABC) in the Albany Regional 2 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
It’s the first time since 2007 the Lady Raiders have advanced to the round of 32. No. 11 seed MTSU (30-4) accomplished the feat by erasing an 18-point deficit in a 71-69 win over No. 6 seed Louisville Friday. It was the third-biggest comeback in tournament history.
No. 3 seed LSU (29-5), the defending national champs, held off Rice 70-60 Friday. The Lady Tigers finished as SEC runner-up and have won 11 of their past 12 games.
The winner will advance to the Sweet 16. Saturday’s games between No. 7 Creighton vs. No. 10 UNLV and No. 2 UCLA vs. No. 15 California Baptist make up the bottom half of the regional bracket.
