Sloot is back in Chicago.
The Chicago Sky are expected to sign veteran point guard, former Chicago Sky guard and two-time WNBA champion Courtney Vandersloot, her agent confirmed to FOX 32.
The Chicago Sun-Times first reported the news.
Vandersloot also changed her Instagram bio to say “Chicago Sky.”
Vandersloot was the No. 3 overall pick by the Chicago Sky out of Gonzaga in the 2011 WNBA Draft. She played with the Sky for 12 seasons, winning a title with the Sky in the 2021 season where her turnaround jumper sealed the win in Game 4.
Vandersloot is a five-time WNBA All-Star, a seven-time WNBA assist champion and a five-time All-WNBA player.
In her 12 seasons with the Sky, Vandersloot averaged 10.2 points per game and 6.6 assists per game.
After spending over a decade with the Sky, Vandersloot spent the last two seasons in New York with the Liberty. She helped New York win its elusive WNBA title in a thrilling five-game series over the Minnesota Lynx in the 2024 WNBA Finals.
Now, Vandersloot will rejoin a Sky team that was looking for a veteran point guard presence. Chicago had Dana Evans and Lindsay Allen running point last season.
Allen signed a two-year deal with the Sky. Evans was a candidate to be traded last season.
Providing first-year head coach Tyler Marsh with a veteran point guard presence in a young Sky locker room will be a boon for a team that’s vying for playoff contention this season, even though they’re in the middle of a massive tear down.
