Graduate guard Megan Meyer will be returning to the Drake women’s basketball team, the Bulldogs announced on Thursday.
Meyer – a 2023 graduate of Drake – played for the Bulldogs from 2021-23 after transferring from the University of Iowa. She shot 42.5% from the field and averaged 12.3 points and 2.5 assists per game during her Drake career.
But Meyer’s senior season was cut short. After starting the first eight games of the 2022-23 campaign, she suffered a season-ending knee injury.

A spokesperson for Drake Athletics shared that Meyer decided to move on from her playing career, with last season’s knee injury being a substantial reason why. The spokesperson also said that she recently had a change of heart and decided to reclaim her remaining eligibility.
“Our team is elated to welcome Megan back into the program.” coach Allison Pohlman said in a statement. “We’re excited to add her familiar skillset to this group and watch our team’s chemistry continue to develop.”
Meyer is immediately eligible to participate in basketball activities.
