Billy Burns: Munster sign Ulster fly-half on one-year deal

Billy Burns joined Ulster from Gloucester in 2018

Munster have announced the signing of Ireland international Billy Burns with the fly-half to make the switch from Ulster this summer.

The 29-year-old, who joins on a one-year deal, has played 107 times for Ulster since joining from from Gloucester in 2018.

Bath-born Burns, who is Irish-qualified through his grandfather, has won seven international caps.

Burns’ arrival at Munster will coincide with Joey Carbery’s move to France.

Munster confirmed in January that the Ireland fly-half will leave at the end of the season for “a new playing opportunity outside of Ireland”.

Burns made his He made his Ireland debut against Wales in the 2020 Autumn Nations Cup.
