Men’s 100 breaststroke

Aleksas Savickas and company threw down a wicked fast 100 breast that lead to split silver medals and the second straight year of Florida 1-2.

Savickas won in 51.01, bettering his pool record from the morning. He was .25 up on the pair tied for second, the position Savickas was in last year. When he did that, teammate Dillon Hillis won. This time it’s Savickas on top with Julian Smith tied for second in 51.26 with Texas A&M’s Alex Sanchez. Both were also under Hillis’ 2020 pool mark from the beginning of the day. Only Savickas had an A cut.

Auburn’s Henry Bethel was fourth. Mitch Mason of LSU was fifth.
