NCAA Men’s Championships: Arizona State Depth on Display (Day 2 Up-Downs)
Arizona State showed up Thursday at the NCAA Championships with its top-line talent. But the depth might well make the difference.
Arizona State has nine swimmers in finals Thursday night, with six A finalists. Leon Marchand is the top seed in the 500 free. Hubert Kos is a contender in the 200 individual medley.
But their title hopes were boosted in the morning by David Schlicht and Owen McDonald pushing into the A final in the 200 IM, and Jonny Kulow and Jack Dolan added A final results in the 50 free.
California has four A finalists, in part thanks to a great swim by Bjorn Seeliger to bump up from an early heat to the A final. Texas has three A finalists, with Luke Hobson hunting the 500 free title.
