The Texas Tech football team picked up its fourth commitment for the recruiting class of 2026 on Tuesday, one from the Red Raiders‘ backyard.
Krush Johnson, a first-team all-District 2-5A Division I defensive tackle from Amarillo Tascosa, announced his pledge to Tech. He visited campus during the junior day the Red Raiders staff conducted Saturday.
Tascosa lists Johnson at 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds.
The Rebels went 7-6 this past season, going three rounds deep in the playoffs before losing to Aledo. In October, Johnson won the voting for the Amarillo Globe-News midseason area high-school football MVP.
Texas Tech and Texas-El Paso are the first two teams who have offered Johnson a scholarship.
The first three high school recruits to pledge to Tech were Georgetown East View linebacker Tieson Ejiawoko (6-3, 226), Mount Pleasant defensive tackle Ayden Johnson (6-1, 315) and New Braunfels Canyon defensive back Luke Bell (6-0, 175).
