Kam Jones in early foul trouble
MU starting guard Kam Jones was whistled for his second foul at the 14:19 mark of the first half.
Golden Eagles head coach Shaka Smart went to a super-sized lineup that included 6-foot-8 David Joplin, 6-11 Ben Gold and 6-11 Oso Ighodaro.
Ighodaro had five rebounds and two assists as MU grabbed a 20-17 lead with just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half.
