Poolside Passport: Out of the Pool, Look for James Guy at a Golf Course or Fishing Hole
Great Britain’s James Guy has been a significant presence in the sport for more than a decade. Not only has Guy excelled in the water, etching himself as an Olympic and world champion, he has been a vocal proponent of clean sport, not afraid to speak out against doping. Throughout his career, the 30-year-old Guy has totaled six Olympic medals and 12 medals at the World Championships. Most notably, he has helped Britain to back-to-back Olympic gold medals (2020/2024) in the 800-meter freestyle relay.
With the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles less than two years away, Guy is proving that age has not slowed him down. Last summer, Guy produced a personal best of 1:44.87 in the 200 freestyle, a swim that earned him a bronze medal at the European Championships in Paris. Recently, Guy took time to chat with Swimming World for its series, Poolside Passport.
