NEW COMMIT: The University of Georgia has added a new verbal commitment for Fall 2028 from Clara Seemann of Overland Park, Kansas. Seemann is a versatile Summer Nationals qualifier who really excels in breaststroke, IM and mid-distance freestyle.

She will join Ellie Wiesen and Madalyn Petty in Athens as a member of the Bulldogs’ Class of 2032.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m so excited to announce my commitment to swim at the University of Georgia! ❤️🖤 I’m beyond grateful for my family and all of their support throughout this journey. Thank you to my club coaches and my teammates for pushing me to be my best and helping me get to where I am today. A huge thank you to Coaches Stefanie, Fernando, and Jerry for this amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to be a part of such an incredible team! Go Dawgs!! ❤️🐾”

Seemann, who trains year-round with Empire KC Swim Club, finaled in the 100m breast and 200m breast at Junior Nationals this past summer after racing six events at USA Swimming Nationals.

Last winter, Seemann placed seventh in the 400 IM, 11th in the 200 breast, 14th in the 500 free and 17th in the 100 breast at Juniors West. She then went on to earn gold in the 200 breast, silver in the 1000 free, and bronze in the 500 free and 400 IM at Columbia Speedo Sectionals.

Her best times include:

  • 200 IM – 2:00.61
  • 400 IM – 4:12.13
  • 50 breast – 29.10
  • 100 breast – 1:01.53
  • 200 breast – 2:11.94
  • 200 free – 1:48.76
  • 500 free – 4:49.44
  • 1000 free – 9:49.66

Seemann also owns several Missouri Valley LSC records.

Georgia finished eighth at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Championships and 15th at the 2026 NCAA Championships.

Seemann’s best time in the 400 IM would’ve scored in the A-final at last year’s conference meet, as well as in the C-final of the 200 breast and 200 IM.
