Backstroker Toula Hickmon To Join Air Force Class of 2032

NEW COMMIT: Naples, Florida native Toula Hickmon has announced her verbal commitment to the United States Air Force Academy, its first public verbal pledge for Fall 2028. Hickmon is a Futures qualifier who specializes in backstroke.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the United States Air Force Academy! I’m incredibly grateful to my parents for their endless support and sacrifices, Coach Eric and all my other coaches for pushing me to be my best, and Coach Murphy and Coach Cameron for believing in me and giving me this opportunity! I’m so excited for what’s ahead and thankful for the opportunity to serve my country!”

Hickmon, who does her club swimming with T2 Aquatics, most recently competed at Austin Futures in August where she won the B-final of the 200m back. She earned bronze in the 200 back and placed 12th in the 100 back at Plantation Speedo Sectionals in February before going on to finished fourth in the 200 back and 13th in both the 50 back and 100 back at Florida Short Course Seniors in March.

Her best times include:

  • 50 back – 28.17
  • 100 back – 58.43
  • 200 back – 2:05.16
  • 100 free – 53.98
  • 200 free – 1:55.56

Currently a junior at Naples High School, Hickmon took third in the 100 back and 11th in the 200 free at the 2025 Florida 2A State Championships. She placed 11th and 10th, respectively, in those events at the state meet in 2024 as a freshman.

Air Force finished sixth at the 2026 Mountain West Conference Championships.
