NCAA Releases Video Compilation of Gretchen Walsh’s Nine Individual College Titles (Watch Here!)
From 2021-2025, Gretchen Walsh produced one of the finest collegiate careers in history. As a University of Virginia standout, she helped the Cavaliers win four consecutive NCAA team titles and she was a four-time individual champion in the 100-yard freestyle. Those crowns in the 100 free were complemented by five other individual NCAA titles – two in the 50 freestyle, two in the 100 butterfly and one in the 100 backstroke.
Walsh also contributed to UVA’s dominance in relay action and set multiple NCAA and American records during her collegiate days. Now, of course, she is the world-record holder in the 100 butterfly, a distinction complemented by the fact that she owns the 18-fastest times in history. While the long-term focus is on the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Walsh is expected to be a headliner in December at the World Short Course Championships in Beijing.
On Saturday, the NCAA released a video compilation of Walsh’s individual NCAA championship performances. The video by the NCAA is celebration of Walsh’s greatness in college waters, and showcases just how dominant she was against the competition.
