Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx – Protime) is leading the Tour de France Femmes after her blistering sprint to claim stage one.
Wiebes got the better of the GC riders on an uphill finish in Lausanne, and, thanks to the bonus seconds on the line, now leads the GC with a four second advantage of Kim Le Court-Pienaar, and a six second advantage over Demi Vollering (FDJ United – SUEZ)
It’s the second time Wiebes will wear the yellow jersey, having become the first ever rider to wear it at the start of the race’s inaugural edition, four years ago.

Wiebes also leads the points classification, despite not competing for points at the intermediate sprint. Charlotte Kool (Fenix-Premier Tech) was the only rider from the peloton to sprint at the intermediate sprint.
In the King of the Mountains classification, Océane Mahé (Ma Petite Entreprise) will wear the polka-dot jersey on stage two, having gotten into the day’s break, and picked up eight points.
Finally, Paula Blasi (UAE Team L’IMAD) will wear the white jersey as the race’s best young rider, on the same time as Isabella Holmgren (Lidl-Trek) and Antonia Niedermaier (Canyon-SRAM).
