The countdown to Florida State football‘s 2025 season Monday, when the Seminoles‘ full schedule was officially revealed by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
After a historically bad 2-10 season, Mike Norvell quickly turned turned the page, vowing to loyal FSU supporters that he would fix the issues that plagued his program.
Norvell shaped his coaching staff by adding Gus Malzahn as his offensive coordinator and Tony White to run his defense.
He went to the transfer portal to add depth, experience, and size on both sides of the field. Now, the question is, will this all generate wins?

Record: 8-4 ( 5-3)
Analysis: The Alabama game will set the bar for FSU. It is one of the four toughest teams on its schedule and will be its season opener. FSU is no stranger to facing SEC opponents at the start of the season.
FSU has beaten LSU in back-to-back years in the 2023 and 2022 seasons. A win against the Crimson Tide could put FSU on the national pedestal.
It also won’t be a surprise if FSU goes on a losing slump against other opponents like Florida, Miami, and Clemson, All of which are high-caliber, and the FSU may not be quite there yet.
The Seminoles will improve once the chemistry on both ends is in sync. Eight wins may not get Norvell back in the playoff picture, but they could put FSU back on track after going 2-10 and being a bowl-eligible team.

Analysis: The Seminoles are going to improve on the disaster of the 2024 season, picking up eight wins in my early prediction of the 2025 season.
There are four stiff challenges that FSU faces in 2025, including a week one opener against Alabama. The Seminoles will be competitive in all four games, however, the team goes 0-4 in games against Alabama, Clemson, Miami and Florida. Those are the biggest and toughest games on the schedule.
A few questions still need to be answered about how the roster bonds together in spring and summer and how quickly new schemes from defensive coordinator Tony White and Gus Malzahn can be successfully implemented. Things can and will change before the kickoff of the season, and this prediction itself likely changes before Alabama comes to town.
As currently constructed, this is how I see things playing out in 2025, and with a 6-2 ACC record, a fight for the conference championship game isn’t out of the question.
